An excuse to eat chocolate-y oatmeal

Who doesn’t love mocha? More importantly, who doesn’t love coffee?

Well, actually a lot of people, but if you are not a coffee lover, I can definitely convert you into one after this post.

This oatmeal latte is such a great excuse to each chocolate oatmeal for breakfast – with your coffee, but this time, all in one.

Mocha Oatmeal Latte.

  • 1-1/2 cups milk ((any type))
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 cup black coffee
  • 1/2 cup warm milk ((any type))
  1. Heat 1-1/2 cups milk, oats, maple syrup, cocoa powder, 2 ounces of the melted chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat, whisking frequently. Heat until oats are fully cooked. Remove from heat, and divide oatmeal between two cups.
  2. Add about 1/4 cup black coffee mixed with the remaining 2 ounces of melted chocolate to each of the cups on top of the oatmeal mixture. Froth about 1/2 cup warm milk until foamy. Add about 1/4 cup of this foam to top of lattes. Garnish with marshmallows and a sprinkle of cocoa powder. Enjoy warm!
