Peanut Butter Nutella Sea Turtle Cookies.

Cute summer cookies to accompany your barbecue

How cute are these cookies?!

I love the idea of turning a favorite cookie recipe into cute creations with the exclusion of artificial food dyes. And these cookies epitomize just that 🙂

And it’s National Peanut Butter Cookie Day so that’s a double win!

Peanut Butter Nutella Sea Turtle Cookies.

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup light, packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 white, granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup nutella, melted
  • 20 small candy eyes
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in flour, baking soda, and salt. Wrap dough with plastic wrap, and store in refrigerator for 30 minutes or overnight. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Roll about 1/2 tablespoon of dough into an oval. Form about 1/2 teaspoon of dough for head and each leg and flipper. Using a fork, make a checkerboard imprint in the shell. Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes or until slightly golden brown but soft to the touch. While warm, drizzle with melted nutella, and attach candy eyes to the head. Serve warm or store in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Enjoy!
