Samoa Macchiato.

The famous Girl Scout Cookie in coffee form? Yes, please.

If you’re not familiar with one or have simply just heard the name in a conversation about Starbucks but really don’t know what it is, a macchiato, and even more specifically an espresso macchiato, is a hot espresso beverage consisting of two shots of espresso and foam. This differs from a latte macchiato, which has both steamed milk and foam.

Here’s an important tip: make sure to use skim milk rather than any milk with fat. Unlike milk with fat, skim milk is fortified with protein that helps create foam and keep it stabilized.

Whether it’s an espresso macchiato or latte macchiato, make sure to try the macchiato – you won’t regret it!
