Comfort food in the middle of spring
I mean sometimes you just need to have some comfort food for those rainy spring days. These pierogis will surely satisfy.
It’s been a few since the last time I posted, but I’m officially done with my final exams at Brown University and am ready to delve into summer food. I can’t believe I’ve already finished my freshman year; it went by too fast.
I’m going to end this post, but get ready for a wave of summer eats coming your way!

Seared Turkey Bacon and Sage Olive Oil Pierogis.
Sage Olive Oil
- 8 leaves fresh sage
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Seared Turkey Bacon Pierogis
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 large pieces turkey bacon
- 8 ounces frozen pierogis ((or homemade))
- Add fresh sage to small saucepan over low heat, and heat until slightly fragrant, only 1 minute. Add sage to olive oil along with salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Whisk, and set aside.
- Add 1 tablespoon olive oil and turkey bacon to medium saucepan over medium heat, and sautée turkey bacon until cooked. Meanwhile, boil pierogis until almost cooked all the way through. Remove from heat, drain, and add to saucepan. Sear until slightly golden brown. Serve with sage olive oil, and enjoy!
